This photo shoot shows off the looks from a collection by Katelyn McClain, a young fashion designer in columbus, Ohio. The bleak and snowy landscape contrasts with the hand-printed fabric and bright colors of the garments and tells a story of a nymph in the woods.
Versatility: Photo Montage
The Spanish clothing line Skunkfunk makes clothes that can often be worn many different ways and with different combinations. To communicate the idea of versatility, these photo illustrations show the model wearing the clothes in different types of constructed scenes.
The background scenes were all constructed by hand from a collection of photos and objects, then photographed. The model was photographed in a studio and then the image of her was placed into the environment. This was a collaboration with Anna Tobias (annatobiascreator.com).
Chef Jared Moffett: Portraits
Portraits of an aspiring personal chef, Jared Moffett, show off his fun personality and obsession with his ingredients. The use of color connects the chef's mood to the dish he is making.
Good For You: Photo Book
This accordion fold book highlights different fruits and vegetables and the benefits to a person's health that they are commonly thought to have, according to folk medicine. The photographs are close ups of the different foods but when the viewer first flips through the book, the pictures are only shown cropped tightly to make them resemble the part of the body they supposedly help. Only when the book is taken apart and fully opened are the pictures shown in their entirety.
The idea comes from my own family's tradition of using homeopathy and folk medicines.
How to Be Immortal: Photo Illustration
Photomontages to illustrate a sarcastic Men's Health article on different ways to be immortal. Options include freezing yourself and commissioning a statue of yourself.
